Fulfilment and Resolutions

As the year ends, I see more interactions around taking stock and introspection; everyone is gauging growth patterns and reviewing development trajectory and pathways. Analysing accomplishments, patterns, trends, juxtaposing expectations and existential realities. All in the bid to reinforce what worked this year and pave the way for a better year ahead.

And on the premise of desired outcomes, everyone, knowingly and unknowingly engages in scenario analysis and forecasting.  All in a bid to reinforce certain commitments, make certain affirmations and highlight or underscore the resolutions that promote one’s best interest.

Resolutions are a firm decision to do or not to do something. Resolutions are the building blocks or templates for goals, visions, and purposes. Your reality is the offshoot of previous resolutions, decision, actions and inactions. Your resolution is shaped by your though process and incubated in your mind which is the base of your cognitive DNA.

As you verbalise those intentions with clear cut pronouncements, they eventually weave your or shape your outcomes. And reinforce the roadmaps that point you toward meaningful accomplishments and milestones.

I wish to bring to the forefront a few considerations about resolutions.

-Resolution is simply living an intentional life and leaving nothing to chance.

-The quality of your present life and your standard of living reflect the summation of your previous resolutions.

-Every desirable futuristic outcomes can be shaped by a deliberate resolution.

-Dreams and desires become reality with the infusion of an action plan.

-Your actions are more potent than your resolutions. The potency of your resolution will rely on your commitment to see it through.

-Finally, we often overestimate what we want to achieve in the short term and underestimate what we can do in the long run.

-As a matter of fact, every day, any season is acceptable as a benchmark for change, development, and growth.

What Resolutions are you making now to ensure fulfilment in the long run?
