Achieving Fulfilment: Navigating Setbacks, Mistakes, Failures, and Rejections

My oh my! Any of the above-mentioned challenges can truncate, frustrate, or abort the attainment of fulfilment. Let’s look at the meaning of these words.

Setback-something that happens that delays or preventsprocess from developing.

Mistakes mean an action, decision or judgement that produces an unwanted or unintentional result.

Failures stem from the fact of someone or something not succeeding.

and Rejections is the act of refusing to accept, use, or believe someone or something.

All the above elements play out in the life of everyone who aspires to be fulfilled.

Setbacks reflect the reality that external influences constantly interact with our pursuits in life. Mistakes reflect naivety, failure relays a lack of foresight or some lapse in a judgment call, and rejections communicate and sum up the incredulity of others.

Suppose you conduct a poll at the marriage registry. Almost every newlywed will tick doubtful on the box for possible divorce, but the numerous cases at the divorce courts prove the contrary. A poll on business failure and probable bankruptcy conduct at the point of incorporating and registering company would most likely yield minimal stats for probable businesses failing, but a review with the tax authorities many years on will tell the contrary.

So, the best of intentions and optimism are not enough to guarantee futuristic accomplishments. The best bet is a contingency plan to navigate the twists and turns—considerable provisioning for mitigating such setbacks as challenges, setbacks, mistakes, failure and rejection. With a well-thought-out plan, you can navigate all these difficulties and stay on course towards fulfilment.

To experience setbacks, make a mistake, fail, or be rejected reflets that your are very likely heading in the defined direction. These scenarios are inevitable because life happens, Covid happened, Tsunamis happen, Economic Recessions happen, and War happens.

Your challenges may not be on such huge scales, but if it is big enough you truncate or delay your fulfilment then for you it is as big as big can get. But remember, it’s not about the setbacks, it’s about how you bounce back. This is where resilience comes in, inspiring you to keep going despite the odds.

Rather than overly simplistic, it requires your attention and evokes additional commitment, so you keep pressing on despite existential limitations or contradictory materiality.

The only way to ensure that you are not railroaded off your predetermined course of action is to primarily make provision for such setbacks.

Well, you may say, “Nobody sets out on a journey of fulfilment and entertains considerations of failure, mistakes, setbacks, or rejection.” Well, this single act of contingent planning is the greatest separator between those who make it and those who may not.
