Momentum is one of the greatest promoters of fulfilment in life.
Momentum means strength or force gained by motion or by a series of events.
Your fulfilment in life is the sum of several factors, and attaining set goals is one such factor. This means that in the journey of fulfilment, there will be countless occasions when you decide on a goal or project and must stay with it until you see it through to a logical conclusion.
When these goals or ideas come to mind, you may exercise self-doubt or reflect on your inadequacies, as such goals might appear unattainable. At this point, many people give up on grand visions and impressive ideas because they get overwhelmed as they dwell on challenges, limitations, exceptions and inadequacies. The key to overcoming this, is to start, to set out, to begin irrespective of current realities. In the chase of any worthwhile value proposition, you will realise that as you narrow in with laser focus on the goal, and as you pay attention, you begin to receive inspiration and ideas that help you see clearly and find answers to pending or pressing questions.
I refer to this as gathering momentum, picking pace, or building traction, which is the grace or competence for execution that builds up with time, consistency and continuity. In Finance and Investment, momentum can be likened to the compounding effect. What happens is that the more you focus on and dwell on a matter, the more expansive your subconscious and mental intuition get, promoting your ingenuity and dexterity even beyond levels you can imagine.
Momentum is your strategic advantage. It generates ideas, optimises performance, magnifies connectivity, inspires speed, multiplies productivity, elicits buy-in and enhances your positioning. It’s the key to staying ahead in the game, always one step ahead of the competition.
This explains how your outcomes and outputs usually supersede your impressions and ideas. When you start out, you may contend with minimal know-how, but innovative clues and ideas come at you as the project progresses, such that at the tail end of the project, you are amazed at your level of accomplishments.
In hindsight, at the conclusion of many projects, you will realise that some inputs and outcomes were initially beyond your scope and may have been oblivious to you at the onset of the task.
However, the momentum built along the way harnessed your innate mental inertia and birthed numerous initiatives.
Momentum is not just a force; it’s a catalyst for innovation and fulfilment. It’s the vehicle that drives creativity, efficiency and ultimately your fulfilment. It’s what keeps you moving forward, always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
I believe in you, see you again next week.
